Future Fonts

 

A quick pointer\reference post, partially for myself.

I always have issues with fonts for signs, banners, etc for Sci-Fi Terrain, but I've come across the perfect site with loads of free cool fonts at dafont.com.

Many look ideal. I did a test install to my Windows 11 PC and it worked perfectly in GIMP. Simple.

Should be useful.

Sci-Fi Recycling Truck

 

After printing it out ages ago I finally knuckled down and painted another vehicle from Digital Taxidermy, namely their "Omni-truck public service vehicle MK1". Even with a not-that-well-dialed-in 3D PLA print it's still turned out nicely.

It's a great big recycling truck for the more "meatier" waste of the future city. It'll do a great job blocking line of site for those cross street dashes!

Small Amounts of Chaos.

 A wee respite from the Sci-Fi miniatures on the table at the moment.

First model is a kit bashed mutated dwarf I picked up on Ebay years ago and has been sitting around half painted for nearly as long. It's not the most sophisticated customisation ever but fits nicely with my mutant options of my slow-build Chaos Warband.

The other two figures are from Ral Partha Europe. One is from their Chaos Dwarf line-up and the other is a Chaos Knight from a limited "Oktoberfest" release last year. Once started the RPE miniatures rattle off nicely as they are unfussy sculpts and I have an established paint scheme for them, so expect another couple "soon".

Airfix Messerschmitt Bf109e

A staple for the finished model collection, alongside the Spitfire and Hurricane, is obviously the Messerschmitt Bf109, so I'm glad to get mine done.

More Sci-FI Citizens

 

A trio of extra characters. On the left is a figure from the Stargrave sprues. The head had reminded me of Duke Nukem so I tried my best to copy the style. A bit small alongside to the more heroic JD figures but fine.

The other two figures are from the Judge Dredd Ganger Heroes box set, with a big thug and a heavy gunner. Excellently themed sculpts as ever.

And as an extra 2 dogs from the 15mm Alternative armies not Judge set.

MC1 Population Explosion

 It may have been more than a couple of months since the last post but there has been some painting at least going on in the background. This batch are all for Mega City One (amongst others)

First up are some Fatties, bought from an Etsy store (sculpted by Papsikels). The set has 11 figures in it, 7 all wearing these jumpsuits and 4 who are dressed as clowns. These last 4 still need to be coloured, but the main gang is done. The colour scheme is a vague nod to the outfit worn by Arnie in "The Running Man". A great addition to flesh out the Fatties gang, which lacks numbers of different sculpts.

First painting of the year proper and finishing a long outstanding project.

The First Of Many...

...Or at least a few. A Battleground British Tommy, my first test 15mm WWII Allied figure.

M13 1.1: If You Go Down To The Woods...

 

A blip has appeared in a wilderness location. A team must be sent out to investigate and neutralise. Marking the area with some beacons as a secondary objective would be useful as well!

More Star Travellers

A couple of posts now tidying up the partially completed jobs sitting around the table. A trio from painting mat observers line, where they sit primed and get spare paint slopped onto them until near completion, with no real agenda.

First is an old Games Workshop Ork I'd found in a box. I'm not sure what he was meant to have in his left hand but it's now an opened can of McEwan's Export. Being red it gets them drunk faster!!

Next is a North Star Stargrave Mystic that I got when the game was released (still haven't had a game!).

A finally a proper Lady wielding a bazookoid, from Blind Beggar games.
