15mm Fantasy Ruins Complete

With a few other non-gaming projects getting in the way it has taken a while to get these ruins completed, but finally they are.

Idirion Legion

On the back of my first contrast paint test is the this squad of Blue Moon Idirion Legion figures. They are nice and bright! 2 Officers, one heavy weapon and 7 troopers.

Demonworld City Guard

I have admit that these have been sitting completed for a couple of weeks waiting to be photographed. Ral Partha's Demonworld\Blighthaven City Guard. As mentioned in a previous post I've misplaced one of the spearmen, so to add to the numbers (and give a bit of diversity) I've added in a Medieval Knight (from an unknown manufacturer).

These are great figures with loads of detail. Strangely the crossbows are the first I can remember painting with the authentic early big flat triggers (in any scale)! I'm looking forward to getting them on the table for a game.

Testing GW Contrast Paints on 15mm

There have been miles of column inches (and the youtube equivalent) produced over the past months about Games Workshops new "revolutionary" Contrast paint range, promising to base and shade in one easy quick coat. Well after watching another YT video the other day the one comment that stuck in my mind was "not good for large flat areas" - so good for 15mm then? I'll give it a bash...

The Laketown Cheese Thieves

Laketown
I had the pleasure of playing Jimboba (author of the Warchest blog) at Falkirk Wargames Club this week. We'd agreed a 400pt game of Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes. I brought along my Dwarf warbands whereas Jimboba had his super cure Splintered Light animals.

Ral Partha Spugs

Finished  my Ral Partha Spugs (Space Bugs). Really enjoyed painted these. 4 troopers with rifles (different poses), another Officer with a pistol, a Leader with Power Glove and Blade, Heavy Weapon setup, Support gun and hover bike. This is the entire range but should be enough for most skirmish games.

One Blog To (Run) Rule Over Them All!

OK so it's a (very) clumsy title, but I'm terribly rusty at this blogging thing!

Wouldn't you know it - just as you split off to do 2 separate blogs life intervenes and you end up doing (nearly) neither. Not long after I started to blog about my 15mm Skirmish a change in employment circumstances meant my gaming dropped to almost zero through lack of time and energy. That'll be self-employment for you!

Anyway, the purpose of this post is to say I'm back, or at least trying to find which pocket my front door keys are in after a few beers (One analogy too many?).

I'm going to be moving the posts from my 15mm Skirmish blog over here to have them all in one place during the next while. There may even be the odd "proper" new post - cor blimey.
