Galleys and Galleons
One of my aims this year was to finally get a game of "Galleys and Galleons" (published by Ganesha Games) played with my flotilla of Wizkids "Pirates..." ships.

Dragon Rampant (again)
Rough cardboard movement trays, no terrain, strange mixes of figures? This picture just reeks of "First Game with New Rules"! |

No Paint City Construction
Update on my new pieces for a Wild West town. After showing you the Mine Wheelhouse building I became a bit enthusiastic and ordered up the Burlesque and Shacks kits from TT Combat as well, but more of those later.

The Baron's Defiled Gang
As mentioned on my "returning" post, my plans for the year were slightly bushwacked by "The Curse of Dead Man's Hand". I've actually looked round the interweb a few times speculatively trying to seek out undead cowboy miniatures with little luck, so I knew I had to jump when this came out, picking up the biggest gang of undead (the pre-order scheme even gave me an extra Cursed Reverend).
One problem I did have though, especially after reading through the "Curse of..." rules, was that I wanted to get playing with the new gang as soon as possible, but with quite a few other projects on the go I knew I'd be pushed to get them painted any time soon with the proposed Zombie paint scheme. So I've done a quick "Revenging Spirits" paint scheme for the majority and only painted properly the three character pieces, the armoured "Juggernaught", Witch and of course Baron himself.
Actually this is a lie, as after starting I thought the ideal foe would be the Black Scorpion Tombstone Reverend that was sitting bare in the pile. With his beard and long coat he happens to almost fit in with the extra Cursed Reverend. Don't you just love serendipity?

Shamblers Kickstarter
Toad King Castings are running a small Kickstarter to fund their Shamblers figures. These look great, and although I don't rpg anymore (they are apparently a classic D&D monster) I think I can find uses for them - random monsters in wilderness games, warband members in Woodland warbands just off the top of my head.
I backed their first KS which seemlessly brought some Giant toads to the pile, so I have now worries about this one.
8 days to go and funded!

Wild West Work
Look like I've some building to be getting on with! A fine addition to my Wild West mining setup. It'll get painted up at the same time as my TT Combat W.W. town.

New Barbarians
The first reinforcements have arrived for my Barbarian warband. Alternative Armies skyclad Celt and two Dwarven Barbarians (Male and Female) from Ral Partha Europe's recent Dwarf kickstarter (available now on their site)
As 2 dwarves in a human warband I decided that these two are a couple, an idea completely influenced\stolen from Stan Nicholl's "Orcs: Bad Blood" series. In "Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes" this takes the form of them both having the trait "bonded", meaning that as long as they are in base to base contact they activate at the same time. It gives the chance of a wee side battle narrative.

Heave Awa Lads I'm no deid yet
Now that I've paraphrased the standard returning blogger phrase we can continue. ( Heave Awa Lads I'm no deid yet is from an engraving on Edinburgh's Royal Mile, by the way)
my Barbarian makes away with some much needed loot in my first club Frostgrave game. |

15mm Skirmish Supplies is open for business.
I realise that all has been very quite here for the last months. There have been a few reasons for that but here is one of them!
I am glad to say that my new venture ,15mm Skirmish Supplies, is now open for business. The product list has been tailored for Skirmish wargamers. So more different poses for your figures. No wasting money on boxes of unwanted spares. A single place with many options.
At the moment we have Ral Partha's Demonworld in for Fantasy and Blue Moon Manufacturing Sci-Fi squads. We have also some Gothic Horror and World War II sets. Finally (for the moment) Amera provide affordable terrain options. More ranges will be coming in the future,
On a Wee Blokes note, things are starting to clear now, so whilst there may be a slight tweak in posts, I'll be looking to adding to the static on the information super highway again on a regular basis.

January's Testing Out of Rogue Stars
Time has been at a premium this month, for reasons that I shall cover in another post, so I'll just have to quickly summarise some of the sessions over the last few weeks.
Rogue Stars was released in December, so it was inevitable (and keenly anticipated) that the rules would be run through after the Seasonal Festivities had died down.

Infinity Neon Lotus Scenery Pack
With Rogue Stars coming out in December my thoughts have part wandered towards Sci-fi gaming. For the game I have enough painted figures to put together a force or two, but terrain was slightly different. I wanted a change from the Industrial\Necromunda style and was presuming that the clean Infinity look was where I'd bee heading until someone on the Rogue Stars Facebook page shared the Infinity Neon Lotus Scenery Pack. For me this tied into the oriental feel that Blade Runner cultured and I knew it was a must buy. Especially as it costs around £8. And with Christmas conveniently approaching, well you can guess the rest!
