Judge Dredd - Protection Racket at Mac's

 

It was just a routine check for illegal alien tech at Mac's Mechs when a report of approaching gangers came over the comms. "Oh, no", said Mac, "That'll be the Hughs Gangers looking for their monthly sub". 

"Not on my watch" commented Judge Barnes as he called over Rookie Judge Noble.

A quick 25pt (24 each as it turned out) throw-down game. 3 gangers were to take control of the Office of Mac's Mechs Repairs, with 2 Judges trying to stop them.

Judicial Dept:

• Judge Barnes: Standard Judge with Lawgiver
• Rookie Judge Noble: Rookie Judge with Lawgiver

Gangers:

• Bob: Ganger Lieutenant with Hand Cannon
• Patrick: Ganger with Pistol
• Ward: Ganger with Pistol

Bob, Partick and Ward scouted round McFattie's restaurant and approached the Office under cover, Bob leading the way.

Judge Barnes took up position in cover next to the entrance, watching to take an opportune shot. He got the chance as Ward quick ducked round the other side of the Office building, but missed the ganger. Meanwhile Rookie Noble flanked wide round the storage at the other end of the street. 

Bob bolted towards the door, taking time to stop and fire at the Lawman. His aim was good and the hit wounded Barnes.

Patrick followed up in support, and both gangers aimed and waited for the Judge to do something and then they would spring.

Rookie Noble was not waiting around however. A carefully aimed shot took out Ward

and then with a bit of quick thinking she fired another shot at Bob, instructing "Hi-Ex" to her Lawgiver before squeezing the trigger.

There was a large explosion. Yells of pain came from Bob, but it was Patrick at the edge of the blast who went down, out of fight.

Taking a quick shot of stims to combat his injury, Judge Barnes broke cover to charge forward to the remaining gang leader. But showing the credentials that made him top dog, Bob hadn't taken his eye off  his quarry and a gunshot came out of the smoke hitting the Judge again.

But Barnes crashed on through the pain and took a out the badly injured Gang leader with his Nightstick. The only thing that would be collected that day was Justice.

Mac emerged from hiding to thank the Judges.

"Your inspection is clear, citizen", informed Barnes, "but for failing to inform us of illegal racketeering I sentence you to 4 months in the Iso-Cubes." 

"That's not fair" protested the Techhead.

Rookie Judge Noble looked at her. 

"No, it's the Law"
