First Game of In Her Majesty's Name
A change of venue and change of game this weekend. MacSver endured the 5 minute downhill walk to my Hobby shed so that we could have a run through our first game of "In Her Majesty's Name". Being the first game it was quite pleasing that we managed to cobble together 2 painted warbands from published company lists, even if the back story of their meeting was a bit beyond us - Wild West Posse vs Tarzan gang in a very English looking churchyard. A mere detail that can be ignored for the moment. I did mean that we had the chance to test shooting and melee combat.

SoBH Campaign 4 - Battle 1
Weather: Heat Wave
Scenario: The Tainted Copse
Defender: Humans
The table was set up as above. The light areas are pathways and everything else counts as forest. The Tree areas are defined copses which may randomly turn, drift or completely swap with one another after the second players turn end. Each warband aims to get half their force out of the deployment zone of the opposing force to win the scenario.

1977 Ral Partha Treeman and Mushroom Men
In a quick diversion between Wood Elves I managed to bolster the roster a bit with 4 Ral Partha Mushroom men and and old (1977) Ral Partha Treeman.
I had a look around the interweb for a few pictures of fungi figures. Pretty universally the one's with spots on looked better, so I went with that. I've used some clump foliage on the Treeman, as he was looking just a bit bare.

Heroes, Villains and Fiends
The first "In Her Majesty's Name" Supplement "Heroes, Villains and Fiends" came through the door yesterday. On first quick flicking it seems a great addition.
The main bulk of the book concentrates on expanding the variety of companies (warbands). "The New World" (Indians, Wild West Outlaws, 7th Cavalry, Pale Rider, Mexicans, Mounties etc), Africa (Zulu's, Boers, Hunting Parties, etc), European Secret societies (Hellfire Club, Templars, Ottoman Secret Service, etc) and more are detailed with ample description.
There are a few new rules, weapons and animals\monsters in there as well.
Also gives a few ideas for different landscapes with associated perils (Wild West town for example). Really useful stuff.
A nice touch is the end section that updates the companies from the core rule book to include new rules, etc set out in this new supplement to avoid any being left behind and disadvantaged.
With all these new lists the imagination is starting to run wild, and I've not even started on the project yet. Very recommended.

More Urban War Koralon
First set of figures of 2014 off the table, a selection of larger Koralon models. 2 Brood Masters with their big double blades, 2 more Larvan and a Phazon to open up those all important portals. I've quite pleased the way the top of the Phazon staff has come out to mirror the portal colours.
The big Broodmasters come with carblike legs on them, but I didn't like them. So they were snipped off and I drilled the stubs to leaving them looking like open pores or something. They are big beasties (that's a 50mm base they sit on!)
I've a Hydra still to be started to finish off my initial full Koralon force of 300+ pts. I've loads more to go, as I plan to use these guys as my "Bug" force in the future, but I really want to get the Woodland Warband roster cleared and get on with other projects this year (VSF and Zombies).

SoBH Campaign 4 Initial Warbands
SoBH Campaign 4 is nigh on upon us so best introduce the Warbands.
This time I'm theming my Warband around Woodland Defenders. The Main force bulk are Wood Elves with the fringe colour being provided by as large a variety of forest denizens as I can realistically manage (a few in the figure pool will never see the campaign table I'm sure).
So I introduce to you the starting lineup of "Galan's Woodland Defenders":
From Left to Right:
MacSver has taken a different method of theming his warband. Not only has he moved away from Dwarves to humans, but he is forming a warband based on various characters from the 'First Law' books by Joe Abercrombie. I've included MacSver's colourful background descriptions as well for his "First Law Crew":
