15mm Barbarian Warband finished

It's taken all December, but my second painted Skirmish Board warband is painted - The Barbarians.

Figures are all from 15mm.co.uk. The scenery is all from my 15mm Skirmish Board set (copies of which will be made available soon from this very blog).

The base edges are intentionally painted a different colour from the Undead horde for ease of playing - I hope to put on a few participation\demo games this year and thought it would help.

  1. Hi!

Cracking little warband there! The painting really brings out the detail on them and unifies them well and the basing is really effective too!

Are you going to add any monsters or anything to them or keep them purely barbarian?

    All the best

    1. Cheers, SCS. No plans for monsters at the moment, although that doesn't mean it won't happen. Going to concentrate on getting a few racial armbands done first before adding anything more exotic. Orcs are next (test case mid paint as we speak)

The scenery is great by the way.

    1. The ginger is blatantly idea is stolen from Ral Partha's barbarian 15mm warband, but Scotish, yes. That's why I had a bash at tartan on any cloaks (not visible in the photo!)

  3. Wow. I've been a big fan of 15mm.co.uk's sci-fi figures, but this is the first good shot I've seen of their fantasy line. Those look fantastic. Especially all that red hair - that stuff is a challenge to look right. And the tartan on that leader sash is amazing. Looking forward to more.

  4. You should be rightly proud of those AK - terrific painting and I especially like how they genuinely look like a unified warband as a result of the colours you've painted them - and their hair obviously :-) Nice little cardboard hut in the background too!!
