SoBH Campaign 4 - Battle 3

Weather: Calm
Terrain: Border Town
Scenario: Raven Barracks

The Scenario is quite simple. The barracks have been abandoned and in the centre of the town there are still some crates available for "retrieval". A small force of  looters is also sneaking around somewhere, with a player deployed random roll.

Everglade Forest Guardians:
  • Galan (Wood Elf Leader) 100pts Q2+,C3 Special Rules: Forester,Leader,Shooter: Long, Drunken
    Item: Charmstone x 1
  • Folmon (Wood Elf Warrior) 36pts Q3+; C3 Special Rules: Forester

  • Anlyth (Wood Elf Warrior) 36pts Q3+; C3 Special Rules: Forester

  • Tatharon (Wood Elf Archer) 50pts Q3+, C3 Special Rules Forester,Shooter: Long
  • Galadthel (Elite Wood Elf Archer) 56pts Q3+, C3 Special Rules: Forester,Shooter: Long, Unerring Aim

Bayaz's humans assembled at the North end of the town

with Galan's elves coming through the South Gate.

Running first the advance human party reached the centre edge first turn, with some crates in view.

With the rest of the party skirting round to enter from a different direction.

Galan, drunken from the last battle, immediately rolled double ones to leave his warband rooted and giving the oppositions an immediate free turn.

The human's did not waste the opportunity and blagged 4 crates, although Dogman was knocked down as he sprung a booby trap.

At this point the other looters appeared (thanks to MacSver) from a doorway directly in the path of the Elves.

Charging forward, Galan gruesomely dispatched one of the looters causing the others to slightly break. The others dashed forward to try and get a crate.

They broke into the square in time to see the back of the humans.

As others used the centre barrack as cover.

Hampering the Elves was Ferro. With her extra range and stealth the city was an ideal hunting environment, proven by her killing shot to Mallossen as he tried to pick up a crate.

Meanwhile, behind the elves the looters had rallied and were causing trouble, splitting the focus of the Elven force.

Chase was attempted, but in the end the human crate carriers were too far ahead.

The Elves were still looking for that elusive crate though,

and pushed supporting numbers to help the faster carrying of the crate.

Meanwhile the looters STILL harried on, coming close to landing telling blows on their foe.

Until the skills of Galadthel finally felled the final one.

This left the way clear for Galan's force to dash away with one crate, looking back at what they missed out on.

Where as Bayaz's First Law crew left with a fine booty of four crates.

Battle Outcome:  Win for First Law

  1. First off I love the first law book and to see a war band based on the heroes is way too cool. Second what a great table and setup. Third what a great AAR.
    Thank you for sharing.
