SoBH Campaign 4 - Battle 8

Scenario: Bar Brawl
The Inn was split into 3 areas; main bar, Office\cellar area and the main courtyard\beer garden. Both sides started with around 120pts worth of figures in random areas at the start of the scenario, with a figure coming into a random section at the start of each players respective turn. As this was a bar brawl there were no weapons. All combat stats remained the same (with the exception of ranged weapons), and there were to be no fatalities. All deaths rolled on the post game injury table would be re-rolled with 50\50 chance of moderate ot serious injury.

During the battle possible random events could occur involving the barman, barmaid or bouncer at the front door.

First off the 2 ginger elven brothers rushed through to the back office to help Ailuin (on Shank's pony for this indoor experience) against Red Hat.

Logen Ninefingers entered into the affry. He and Redhat used the cellar barrels to narrow the possible attack area, forcing the elves to leap over barrels if they wanted position.

Curnden Carw burst through the cellar doors to even up the numbers,

But was not quick enough to prevent Logan going down under a flurry of blows.

Redhat was forced to back off with his comrade out of the fight. The Elves persued but Ailuin showed a bit too much haste and was taken out by a Craw uppercut.

Meanwhile, in the main bar, things were starting to get lively, with Ferro being surrounded by 3 Elves.

Next door the two Elven brothers were despirately fighting hand to hand. They could hear the mighty footsteps of Rudd Threetrees in the courtyard and wanted to tie things up or at least escape before the powerful human forced his way through the doors.

In the main bar, Helga the barmaid had approached Bayaz (who had appeared to aid his comrade) and told him a tale of mistreatment at the hands of Lavathor. This meant that, given to opportunity, Bayaz would pursue the Beastmaster doggedly until one of them was taken out.

Dutifully Bayaz attacked his foe, but was knocked to the ground in red mist of his outrage.

Ferro suffered a similar fate at the hands of her opposite female Elite archer, Galadthel.

Next door, Threetress had managed to force his way into the Beer store. Sensing an advantage at last Redhat push an attack, but ended on his back.

Rusgon took advantage of the slip and gruesomely dispatched the human, causing Curden Craw to flee from the building.

Back in the main bar there was still mischief afoot. The barmaid, unhappy with the outcome of her previous intervention decided to go for a more delicate ear. Galadthel could not believe her pointy ears at what Lavathor was alleged to have said about the fairer sex and vowed that he would be taught a lesson.

Lavathor managed to dispatch the Human commander at his feet before protesting his innocence to his colleague as she rounded the skirmish to get to him. Not wanting to fight his follow elf he decided to leave.

Galadthel was not amused and gave chase.

But the elven beastmaster did not get to far, being intercepted by both Ferro and, from the other side of the courtyard, Curden Craw.

Folmon dashed in, not only to contact Ferro but also block Galadthel's path to her quarry.

She soon had a bit of a distraction though as Rudd Threetrees thundered from the building desperate to punch someone. He must have stepped in a puddle of beer on the way, however, and ended up on the cobbles. Folmon faired even worse and was taken out by Curden.

Galan then charged into the affray and gruesomely took out Threetrees before he could recover his feet. This again had Curden Craw on the run and he left the premises.

As is traditional in these types of drunken brawls, the courtyard became a drunken scrum of bodies screaming, yelling abuse and swinging punches. No-one even seemed to notice that  the vast majority of them where from the same warband.

Ferro, though, was in a bit of a stick, and completely alone and surrounded had no choice but to try and fight her way free. But with blows coming from all directions she went out for the count. This left Bayaz to calm down Galadthel, gather the remaining troops , and trail off to the nearest Olde Chippe Shoppe.

Battle Outcome: A Everglade Guardians Victory (and a few sore heads the next morning!)

    1. Thanks, Bob. It does (notionally) have a flat roof - those types of local pubs are always the worst! :)

  3. Cheers, HoM. First Law have nearly always had folk out injured for every battle which hasn't helped. A quick Tree Hug though and Galan manages to get over it though ;)
