I was starting to feel like I needed a wee break from the Critter treadmill (as much fun as it is) so a quick scramble into the loft and I pulled out this classic starter a change of scene - the Curtiss P40C Tomahawk
When I was a young lad I build many models. I don't remember most of them but I think the desert camo scheme on this has stuck in my memory for way back then.
Being a starter kit it was basic to build (not as basic as He-162 mind you) and everything went together fine with no filling. The supplied paints were good and even the the front teeth curved decal (which I was dreading putting on) went on perfectly - a top bit of design work.
And finally a nice documentary on the P40 Warhawk/Tomahawk:

Lovely job, the Tomahawk is a favourite of mine!
ReplyDeleteThere's something very satisfying with it, isn't there. I think it's that slightly deeper intake under the engine.
